Apparently the Liberal Democrats couldn't see how to establish a progressive, reforming government with Labour. So they've turned to the Tories.
My Liberal Democrat MP, Norman Baker, stood for parliament claiming a vote for him was the only way to keep the Tories out. I voted for him on that basis, as I have done before. Now his party has put the Tories in power.
So I might as well have voted Labour, or Green.
Can I have my vote back?
He actually said that it was the only way to keep the Tories out in Lewes constituency, which is true as there was a Tory MP for 130 years before Norman.
ReplyDeleteThe Lib Dems were clear that they would help whichever party had a majority of votes and seats to form a government. If the Labour party hadn't been so right wing over the last 13 years it might have been them.
If you had voted Labour and Green here, then you would have helped the Tories towards forming a government on their own rather than one with Lib Dems to balance them.
I want my Lib Dem vote back too. Tory policies from a tory government - absolutely disgusting. Everyone should vote Green if they can- in our great democracy I don't get that opportunity.
